ABOUT US

Who We Are

CORA’S Intergenerational Center is the vision of the Senior Minister of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. His passion for seniors and children led him to envision an intergenerational opportunity for these diverse ends of the human aging spectrum. Rev. Dr. Clifford A. Jones, Sr. tasked a small group to research the need and the possibility of creating an intergenerational center in partnership with Marizetta Kerry Child Development Center, which has served the community for 50 years. A non-profit was formed by a volunteer Board of Directors and CORA’S Intergenerational Center was born.

CORA’S is named after Dr. Jones’ mother, Mrs. Cora Harris Jones. The name is also an acronym which conveys the Vision to Care for Older and assistance-Requiring Adults with love that honors legacy, and supports an intergenerational connection between young children and aging neighbors.  CORA’S serves adults age 18 and up.

CORA’S is Certified as an Adult Day Care and Adult Day Health Center with three specialty areas: Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s Disease. When a Center has specialty areas, the staff have additional training in the specialty areas to provide care to meet the needs unique to these illnesses.
